1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Arden ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Arden is a mobile application that allows users to:

• Scan and digitize physical book pages using camera or photo library
• Extract text from book pages using optical character recognition (OCR)
• Listen to stories read aloud by AI-generated character voices
• Create and manage a personal digital library

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use Arden, you must create an account using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription & Payments

4.1 Free Features

Arden offers certain features for free, including:

• AI voice model download
• Sample voice preview (listening to character voices)
• Character selection and preferences

4.2 Premium Features

Premium features require a paid subscription. Premium subscribers have access to:

• Book Creation: Create and save books to your library
• Page Registration: Add pages to books via camera or gallery
• Book Reading: Listen to books read aloud by AI character voices
• Unlimited Storage: Save unlimited books in your library
• All 6 AI Character Voices: Emma, Lily, Sophie, James, Oliver, Max

4.3 Subscription Plans

4.4 Subscription Terms

• Billing: Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store, managed via RevenueCat
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with reasonable notice. Price changes will apply to subsequent billing cycles
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings
• Restore Purchases: You can restore your subscription on a new device through the app settings

4.5 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload to the App, including:

• Book page images
• Extracted text
• Library organization

5.2 License to Us

By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the App's functionality (e.g., text extraction, text-to-speech conversion).

5.3 Content Restrictions

You agree not to use the App to:

• Upload copyrighted content without authorization
• Store or distribute illegal content
• Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Property

Arden, including its design, features, AI voice models, and technology, is owned by Eodin and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its components
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Use our trademarks without permission

6.2 AI Voice Models

The AI character voices are proprietary technology. You may use them only within the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use your information.

8. Disclaimers

8.1 "As Is" Service

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8.2 No Guarantee

We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Defects will be corrected
• The App will meet your specific requirements

8.3 Third-Party Content

We are not responsible for any third-party content, including books or images you scan with the App.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EODIN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eodin from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

12.1 By You

You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account through the App settings.

12.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent or illegal activity.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your license to use the App ends immediately
• We may delete your data after a reasonable period
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive

13. General Provisions

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

13.3 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Eodin regarding the App.

13.4 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

13.5 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
