1. Agreement

By accessing or using The Lesser Key (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

If you sign in, additional account terms below apply.

2. Who we are

The Site is operated by semag, a studio under Eodin (the "Operator", "we"). The serialized fiction "The Lesser Key" is authored by Woojin.

3. The Site & content

3.1 Our content

All chapters, illustrations, character profiles, demon catalog entries, worldbuilding pages, and other creative material published on the Site (the "Site Content") are owned by Woojin and licensed for display on the Site by the Operator. Site Content is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

The underlying public-domain source material — the 17th-century compilation known as the Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis (also called The Lesser Key of Solomon), the traditional demon names, and the traditional sigils — is not claimed as our property. The novel's in-world narrative is set centuries earlier than that compilation; the historical text is our source, not our setting. Our retellings, translations, illustrations, character interpretations, and original narrative ARE our property.

3.2 Permitted use

You may:

Read Site Content for personal, non-commercial enjoyment.
Share short excerpts (a few sentences, fair-use scope) on social media with a link back to the Site.
Link to chapters and pages from blogs, forums, etc.

You may not:

Republish Site Content (in whole or in substantial part) on other sites, platforms, or in print.
Use Site Content (especially illustrations) to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or seed AI models, datasets, or embeddings, whether for commercial or research purposes.
Remove or obscure copyright, author, or watermark indicia.
Frame, scrape, or systematically harvest the Site without our written permission.

We additionally signal the AI-training restriction via robots.txt (disallow rules for known AI-crawler user-agents such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, anthropic-ai, CCBot, Google-Extended, Applebot-Extended, Bytespider, PerplexityBot, Meta-ExternalAgent, and similar). We may extend these signals to additional crawlers or to image-response headers (such as noai / noimageai) over time. Ignoring any of these signals is a breach of these Terms regardless of any "consent" you may infer from access being technically possible.

3.3 Illustrations

Illustrations are created with AI tools curated and directed by the author. They are part of the published work and are subject to the same restrictions as text content. The Site does not provide a download button by design.

4. Your account

4.1 Sign-in

You can sign in via Google OAuth. By doing so, you authorize us to receive your basic profile from Google (see the Privacy Policy, §3).

4.2 Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Activity that occurs under your account.
Keeping your Google account secure.
Posting content that complies with §5 below.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion, with or without notice in clear-violation cases.

4.3 Account deletion

You can request account deletion by emailing official@eodin.app from your account email. We process requests within 30 days, or any shorter statutory window that applies in your jurisdiction (see the Privacy Policy §9 for details). Your comments may remain as [deleted] placeholders to preserve thread structure for other users; identifying information will be removed.

5. User-generated content (comments, likes, bookmarks)

5.1 What you grant us

By posting a comment or otherwise submitting content ("UGC") on the Site, you grant the Operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to display, reproduce, store, and adapt the UGC on and in connection with the Site (and in normal operational backups). You retain ownership of your UGC.

You can request removal of your UGC by deleting the comment yourself or by contacting us.

5.2 What you promise

You will not post UGC that:

Is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, hateful, sexual involving minors, or threatens violence.
Infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
Contains malware, phishing links, or spam.
Discloses anyone else's private information.
Impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation.
Promotes commercial offerings unrelated to the Site without our permission.

5.3 Moderation

We may, at our discretion and without notice:

Remove or hide any UGC.
Suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate §5.2.
Cooperate with valid legal requests regarding UGC.

We are not obligated to monitor, and our removing or not removing a particular comment is not an endorsement. Comments express the views of their authors only. When a comment is removed at the author's request or by moderation action, we may retain a [deleted] placeholder to preserve thread structure for other readers; identifying information about the original author is removed (see the Privacy Policy §8 for retention details).

5.4 Copyright and rights-infringement notices

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights, send a written notice to official@eodin.app containing:

Identification of the work or right alleged to be infringed.
The URL of the allegedly infringing material on the Site.
Your contact information (name, email, and — if you act on behalf of a rightsholder — your authority to do so).
A good-faith statement that the use is not authorized by you, your agent, or applicable law.
A statement, under penalty of perjury where your jurisdiction recognises that concept, that the information in the notice is accurate.

We respond to substantively complete notices within seven (7) business days and may remove or restrict access to the material pending review. The submitting party may be notified; the affected user may be notified and offered the opportunity to file a counter-notice. We may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. Notices that are facially deficient, abusive, or in bad faith may be disregarded; submitters who knowingly file false notices may be liable for damages under applicable law.

6. Prohibited use

You agree not to:

Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site or attempt to bypass security.
Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers without our written permission (well-behaved feed readers and search-engine crawlers excepted).
Send traffic at volumes intended to degrade the Site or that materially exceed ordinary human use.
Interfere with other users' use of the Site.
Reverse-engineer or attempt to derive the source of the Site beyond ordinary use.

7. Third-party services & links

The Site links to external services (Royal Road, Scribble Hub, X/Twitter, RSS readers, semag.app). We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices.

8. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

We do not warrant that:

The Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Defects will be corrected on a particular timeline.
Content (including chapter timing) will be published on schedule.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR, ITS PRINCIPALS, AGENTS, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SITE IS LIMITED TO USD 100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS (which is zero, as the Site does not currently process payments).

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in such cases, the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator and its affiliates from any claim, loss, or liability arising from (a) your breach of these Terms or (b) your UGC, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP rights, disclaimers, limitations, indemnity, governing law) will survive.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, excluding conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be brought in the courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any competent court to protect our intellectual property.

If you are a consumer in the EEA/UK and a local mandatory law gives you stronger rights, that law applies to the extent of the conflict.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Site at least 14 days before taking effect, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. If you disagree with a material change, your remedy is to stop using the Site and request account deletion.

14. Miscellaneous

Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
No assignment by you. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer.
Entire agreement. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.
